Yes on Tony Rich's EXIST

Amazon.com: Exist: The Tony Rich Project: Music

September's pleathora of music is fun, curious and making me wonder what was the blockage that we're now getting it all at once. (Jupiter retrograde is my guess.)

At any rate, I continue to find EXIST satisfying AND growing on me the most. Could describe him as two parts his former boss Babyface and one part Seal. Rhythm & Soul gone 70s and Southern with an ethereal connection blended in. Was bummed he ditched the industry so quickly, especially with his strong start in songwriting and debut disc.

Alas, he's back and worth the wait. Easily a B+ disc, I expected to call it A or A- once I've let it sink in fully during October.

More on the new musics (that keep coming!) as Autumn rolls on.

X-press 2's Makeshift Feelgood

This is sounding pretty tasty. Definitely can add to collection! http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewAlbum?id=262771734&s=143441

Marah

This sounds pretty good. Again, nothing I need - though perhaps one to key eye/ear out for. http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewAlbum?id=269205291&s=143441

american boogie down

I'm very much feeling this. Feels like it's own Sunday Tea Dance playlist - yeehaw! Track 6 sounds like they're biting early Prince, with a curve - kinda nice. http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewAlbum?id=279967677&s=143441

The Ones

Finding The Ones tasty, yet not an add for me - the energy appeals, yet the tracks do not compel. http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewAlbum?id=276699743&s=143441

Metro Station

Curious blend of '00s & mid80s - I hear all sorts of influences Rick Springfield, New Order, Duran Duran, Level 42. This sounds pretty good. Not sure if it's a necessary add for me though. Itunes: http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewAlbum?id=263684829&s=143441

Ben Jelen's "Ex-Sensitive"

Also a referral from Advocate 17Jul07 Sounds quite nice at a peek. Not enthralled with it, or finding it a must. Would be curious to have a DJ assistant/consultant that would go through the disc and pass on any 4/5 star tracks pre-labeled. With that new software Mojo this seems very doable (MusicDen lives, eh?). iTunes link

Tegan & Sara's "The Con"

Definitely reminds me of "The L Word" when it's more rockish, dramatic; believe they have some tracks among those soundtracks. This is a needed add for Collexion. iTunes link referral from Advocate 17Jul07

Brandy's back

Nice slower softer urban-ish track for Tyler Perry's new movie. Like the vocal arrangement, track is ok - want more excitement or something from it. Ah well, it's rather solid warm and good. She'll chart and slowly return to it all. Download Brandy Dig This - Supload.com - Free Music Hosting, Free Audio Hosting, Free Image Hosting, Free Video Hosting, Free Movie Hosting
