Hi!

So it’s true the old Champs Diner¬†space has now transformed into Haymaker’s Corner Store. This is¬†a vegan grocery space a la Portland’s Food Fight and the good few others around the U.S. Heck, the world these days!

And it’s also true NYC now has a vegan creperie in Williamsburg, already scoring lots of buzz in its first week of business! This is Lil Choc Apothecary that’s been a Vegan Shop-Up vendor, and that ran a Kickstarter last Summer. (Repeating for clarity that NYC also has¬†De La Terre ‚Ästa new vegan creperie truck. It’s run by a wonderful couple with the cutest holder for your sweet or savory crepe.)

Was excited to see a new vegan spot is coming to the West Village. Except it’s not new! It’s the largely raw Gingersnaps Organic relocating from the East Village. I’m staying tuned into you all for when it opens!

This past Thursday, NYCLASS and Compassion Over Killing teamed up with pols to propose Meatless Mondays in NYC. You can help by calling your Council Member and asking them to co-sponsor Reso(lution) 551.

Please know¬†Cinnamon Snail‘s¬†Superbowl / Puppybowl Party¬†AND¬†Valentine’s Day¬†menus are ready for drooling, er, ordering. Have heard raves about their S/P menu. Why is this only available once a year?!!

Monk’s Meats¬†also offers a Winter Holiday Menu including their seitan skewers.

AMys-RoundUP

What’s shakin’ coconut bacon peoples? Besides our teeth on the colder days lately!?!?

Pleased to know Senator Cory Booker continues to eat vegan and has eaten at newer NYC veg spot, Seasoned Vegan. Sounds like they’ve fed a good number of other famous local and global folks too! How wonderful is that? Then I turn around and see Bunna Cafe has fed Ashanti, while exciting Zagat and Time Out NY about their food. Go vegan GO!

Please know Cinnamon Snail‘s Superbowl / Puppybowl Party¬†AND Valentine’s Day menus are ready for drooling, er, ordering. Have heard raves about their S/P menu. Why is this only available once a year?!!

Sprig & Vine¬†(New Hope, PA), of the extended Horizons’ family, has¬†released their Valentine’s menu also.

If you see any new products including¬†Amy’s vegan ice cream pictured here, PLEASE send a note over including WHERE it was bought/spotted (and WHAT) ‚Äď THANKS ūüôā

I previewed Jujube Tree in Astoria; this is my neighborhood’s very first all-veg spot! It’s good food, very good service and the menu is mostly vegan. The king oyster mushroom appetizer was awesomeness! They have weekday lunch specials, so will be bopping back over to work through that menu and get a greater sense of what’s what with the food. Glad (and mad?) to be in their delivery zone to boot ūüôā

Putting out a vegan APB for Just Cookie dough (from the Just Mayo people). Seeing pics of it being in some stores across the country. Anyone seen it in a local store though?

Please enjoy this compiled (and linked) list of greater NYC area veg spot openings and closings in 2014.
